With the Old Smith 90-007 green sunray dial, Kuoe creates a piece that blends historical depth with contemporary sensibility. Inspired by 1930s military watches, it maintains a contained size — 35 mm in diameter — ideal for a modern wrist seeking understated elegance. The 316L steel case is meticulously polished, compact yet never appearing fragile, and its 12 mm thickness houses a domed sapphire crystal with soft reflections, like a water mirror at dawn.
The green sunburst dial unfolds in luminous circles, changing throughout the day like the moss of a Kyoto temple playing with light and shadow. At six o'clock, the small seconds tick at its own tranquil pace, separate but always in harmony with the rest. The blued leaf hands add a rare artisanal touch, each nuance subtly unique.
At its heart, Kuoe relies on the Miyota 82S5 automatic caliber: 21,600 vibrations per hour, manual winding, hacking seconds, and a 42-hour power reserve. A simple, robust, regular mechanism — like a slow step on a stone path. The transparent caseback reveals the engraved rotor, a discreet tribute to Japanese engineering.
The smooth leather or "beads of rice" steel bracelet extends the spirit of the watch: refinement, comfort, longevity. Water-resistant to 5 ATM, it braves the seasons without fear.
